I like being part of communities
At Local Threads Collective
At Local Threads Collective in Mumbai, I stepped away from the screen and the fastness of the city, to help build physical spaces grounded in sustainabile practices, circularity, and mutual care. We are not just organizing events, we are actively fostering a micro-economy of shared resources, care and conscious consumption. We facilitate this through various gatherings like Clothes Swap Meets, Music Listening Sessions, Offline Hours at a local park or Open Studio(where people come together to do art without any hesitation).
My experience working at Local Threads Collective has brought me around a vast array of diverse and interest folks coming from all across the city, exposing me to ideas, knowledge and memories that I will always cherish. This has made life more livable among the urban sprawl of Mumbai.

Coming together to do art
At Uppsala's Student Nations
While living as a student in Uppsala, it was impossible to not come across the Student Nations. The nations are Community Centres, initially brought up for Swedish students at Uppsala Universitet coming from the many different counties/nations of Sweden, hence the various Student Nations. Nowadays international students coming to Uppsala can also join any nation of their choice depending on their interests, goals, etc.
During my two years in the city, I was an active member of two student nations. Västmanlands-Dalarna Nation was the one closest to me, where I got a job as a Bar Master during 2023. Kalmar nation was another space I frequented as a member of their photography club, where we used to loiter around the city doing photowalks once ever week. The nations brought me warmth during the harsh winters and proximity to people coming from different walks of life.
